The Science Behind Polygraph
A polygraph is a scientific, diagnostic tool designed to measure truthfulness using psychophysiological detection of deception. During the exam, the instrument records:
* Chest and abdominal breathing patterns
* Sweat gland activity
* Blood pressure
* Body movement
These physiological responses, triggered by specific questions, are analyzed by our Certified Polygraph Examiners to provide a professional opinion on truthfulness or deception.
Research shows polygraph exams can be accurate up to 94% (Gougler et al., 2011).
